Hitting 2 1/2 yr old

My ds is going through a phase of smacking and the odd kick and pinch. I have put him on the step in the hall for 2mins and he says sorry after. He doesn't seem to be stopping doing it though. It is mainly directed at older sister and me and he doesn't do it at childminders to her or other kids. Just wondered how other people might deal with this?

I would say you are doing the right thing and its a phase - my DCs tended to do this when tired - and my DS2 tends to do it when his older brother winds him up!!

Yes I think there is some discreet winding up by dd. I am trying to be consistent but seems to be taking alot longer to sink in with son than it did my dd. That or I have a selective memory
