won't dress himself but is quite capable (changes without probs and quickly for pe).
we had a 'grown up' talk yesterday about it, he just 'likes it better' if we (dad and mum) dress him. we discussed and agreed that today I will not dress him at all.
now big meltdown. it's breaking my heart but I want to be firm, even if he has to go to softplay in his pj's.

I would do the same thing and mean what I say.

What happens when he has PE at school? Just gets on with it?

Kids can only be lazy if you let them - so I agree - be firm, you are the grown up and are teaching him independence - one of life's big lessons.... one step at a time... he'd be embarrassed to go to softplay in his pjs - but I bet he'd only do it once !

he got dressed very quickly indeed when I was getting ready to go out the door...
