Excessive sweating - 7mo

DD has extremely clammy hands and feet a lot of the time. When I picked her up from her nap there was a huge pool of sweat on the sheet where her head was resting. I mean a HUGE pool. I know the weather's hot but she was sweaty and clammy a lot when she was born in January. Should I be concerned?

How many layers are you dressing her in? An interesting (if American) article is here

I'd expect a baby to sweat a fair bit in this heat, and they generally lose heat through their heads most of all, but if you're really concerned, I'd try the GP.

Thanks, Occams she's currently only wearing a short-sleeved body suit in this heat and even with no socks her feet and hands are clammy. But her head absolutely oozes sweat and feels very warm. She's not ill and eats and sleeps well though Smile

May I ask what bedding and sleepwear you are using? Synthetic fabrics like polarfleece or polyester are really sweaty, and some people are particularly sensitive to them (like me). It may help to change the bedding to only cotton or merino wool? Merino wool is particularly lovely because it's perfectly cool in Summer and warm in Winter.

It could also be the result of a foam mattress instead of an innersprung one? I know that when I sleep on a foam mattress or use anything other than cotton sheets I sweat like a crazy woman.
