Starting school under 100cm

That is it really. DS1 starts primary in 3 weeks and is only 98cms at 4.5, should we be worried? He could be the smallest in school and that is a worry.

No, it's nothing to worry about. And also, really, nothing you can do anything about! some children are tall, some are small.

Ds1 was 97cm when he started at 4.5. Small but not excessively so. Nothing you can do about it really, tho' we have had chats in y1 about how to deal with bullying as there has been some going on; not particularly related to his size as he's spurted this year and is not among the smallest.

My DD is 92cm and starts school in a few weeks, no point worrying, you can't make them grow!

Unless you or your GP have other concerns, don't worry.

Nothing to worry about and nothing you can do about it. DD1 is about to enter year 2 and is still the shortest in the school - I think she's around 104cm by now. Her class all saw the county nurse last year and when she turned out to be just off the chart height-wise the nurse asked if I'd like her to come back in 6 months to measure her again. I said what's the point - DH, his family and all my family are short so it's highly unlikely that our DCs are going to be giants.
