Is it my fault?

My near 6 yo ds recently had a development check. It came back saying he needs SALT and Occupational therapy. His speech is not so clear and he doesnt speak too much. He didnt know his full home address or when his birthday was. His drawing of a house was too simple.

Are his issues my fault, in that I didnt speak with him or play with him enough? I never even thought to make sure he knows the date of his birthday. Am I a really rubbish mother?

Of course it's not your fault. Every child is different, and they all develop at different rates. You're not a rubbish mother. If your child was dyslexic, that wouldn't be your fault would it?
