My DD is 12 weeks old, EBF and very, very wakeful. It was a long (37 hr) labour which ended with forceps and right from the get-go she has been highly alert and cranky. Since around 6 weeks she has become a lot easier, and we have managed to instil a bedtime routine (bath, feed, story and rocked to sleep in her bouncer chair) which (usually) means she is asleep between 9 - 10 each night, sleeps until around 2am for a change and feed and then wakes again at around 5 or 6. My issue is with daytime naps. She really fights going to sleep in the day, and ends up horribly overtired. While she will happily be put back down in her bassinet after she wakes in the night she won't fall asleep in it in the day. She is happy to hang out in her crib but she won't sleep there as she gets distracted by her mobile, but without the mobile she fusses. She will sleep after a feed but often wakes after around 10 minutes.
How do I get her to take naps? What kind of routines do other people have with their 3 month olds? Help!

Ds2 is 3mo and he doesn't really have much of a routine, he wakes about 7-8 has a feed then while ds1 has his breakfast, play with him and ds1 a bit, then take ds1 to nursery about 9.30ish ds2 may fall asleep in the sling, feed when we get back home, out for activity then or play at home, if at home may fall asleep but usually needs help (me walking about with him in the sling usually works) then feed/play/sleep until bedtime between 10-11pm and he'll then go down in his carrycot (which he won't usually sleep in during the day) and sometimes will wake for feed c4 but sometimes goes through til 6/7 (or this am the miracle of 8am).

He has this week found his thumb to suck though so he is starting to settle a bit more for naps in the carrycot in the day but otherwise it's feeding him/going for a drive/going for a walk in the pram/sling. Ds1 was pretty much the same iirc.

I think they do generally need help to go to sleep at this age.
