3.5yo dd holding her poo

DD1 was fully potty trained at the start of the summer, but then we went away for a few weeks and in the disruption of travel she started soiling herself. We didn't bully her about it, and we went back to rewarding her and praising her for going in the toiled but gradually she phased out the toilet for poo altogether, although she is 100% fine for pee.

When DH took her to the US to visit his parents he resorted to pull-ups, and now that she has been back a couple of weeks, she's back in knickers but she simply WILL NOT POO in the toilet. She holds as best she can but inevitably it comes out bit by bit. She has pooed in the toilet twice in two weeks. Praise, bribery - none of that works. She KNOWS she's doing it, because she's struggling to keep it in. She KNOWS we want her to do it in the toilet. We have tried ignoring and not making any comment at all for days.

It has now gone beyond "oh just wait til she gets home, she'll be fine" - this is beyond the beyond! We have to get this sorted out before school starts up again.

I have no answer for you as my twins do the same. It's infuriating! Especially as I know they can do it as every so often they will poo on the toilet or potty. Most of the time it's nuggets in pants though, four pairs each yesterday Sad although not usually that bad.

I will watch with interest!
