What age did you stop massaging your baby?

My DD is 7 months old and I'm still doing baby massage after her bath in the evenings, but she's getting more and more wriggly and I'm wondering how much longer we'll be able to include this in her bedtime routine. What age did you stop massaging your baby?

I never massaged mine so i would say you could stop whenever you wanted

I never did it as part of a routine, but I still massage as and when they new to chill out or when ds1 gets a bout of constipation.

Never really bothered with either of them

Thanks, I know not everyone massages their babies and I know I can stop whenever, but I'm just curious how long others have been able to continue for.

I did a baby massage course with dd3. Bathed her every evening and then massaged her, it really soothed her but i stopped around 8 months when she became very wriggly and unable to keep still

DD still loves a massage aged 4! She's a bit pampered. She knows the order it's done in and won't let me miss a step. Though I like it as a bonding thing with her.

Never massaged mine. If anyone should be getting a massage around here, it's me, not the baby!!!

I have never been able to take baby massage seriously since my husband pointed out the poster at our antenatal class saying "first ask your baby's permission".

Hmm

Just now I read him the thread title and he said "I never started. I'm still waiting for his permission!" Grin

I massage my 9 month old and plan to continue with this as she seems to enjoy it and relaxes her.
