The Age Old Problem of Toddler Hitting

My gorgeous DS is just two, and in the last couple f months has started hitting a lot. Not normally for no reason. He is hittingat nursery and at home. At nursery he gets time out and I do the same here, he does sit quietly and say sorry but does he really understand why he is in time out?

I do believe in discipline and teaching right from wrong but nothing seems to be working. Will he grow out of it?

Any clues?

I think they do understand, DD certainly did (she was a little younger than yours) but she was a biter. Believe me seeing your child draw anothers blood is no party Blush

I used NO, remove, reinforce. So say 'no we do not bite/hit, remove from situation, tell them again we do not hit, and fuss over the hittee. They get it eventually.

It will pass, I promise.

Thanks chocolatehips, I really hope so. So far so good today, for once.
