Help! Not sleeping anymore!

My DD is 3 months old and has slept through the night from 8 weeks. However, the last couple of nights shes been waking up and after trying everything she just won't settle. It's not even because she's hungry because she's not that fussed about having a feed. Will just play around with the bottle.

I look at her and she just wants to play and doesn't seem tired. She was so good before and I really don't want her to slip back into a bad routine.

Any suggestions??

I'm knackered and can't really cope with the day without much sleep!

Was going to say it's the 3 month growth spurt until you said she wasn't that interested in a feed. Has she had jabs recently? Could it be teething? Have you tried swaddling and white noise? There are some good tips in 31 wyas to get your baby to sleep and stay asleep.

I shouldn't worry about a bad routine too much though, babies change all the time an my DS was a terrible sleeper at that age but sleep beautifully now and even asked to go to bed last night. Babies change what they do all the time.

Thanks for the link, I'll have a read.

No she had her jabs 3 weeks ago. Due some more next week. She has started teething which I use a dummy and teething gel for.

I just don't want her to think that when she wakes in the night that it's morning time and time to play....but then it means me staying awake with her for hours.

White noise is usually great but she still wakes up through it which makes me think she is just not tired.

Thanks for your help Smile

If she is teething try ibruprofen, much better than paracetamol for dental pain. Have you got some of those teething rings that you can chill too?

Flosie1989 · 08/08/2012 17:15

Thank you I'll try the chilled teething rings as only have normal ones! I didn't realise that they did baby ibuprofen too, I'll also try that. Thanks for the tips Smile

My 3 month old has started doing something very similar, keeps waking up several times between 2-4am and not through hunger. I think it's teething too as she's trying to chew her fist a lot. Have you tried nelsons teething powders? They can stick a bit better than teething gels.

Ah I didn't even know they did a teething powder... I'll look into that, thanks for the tip!

chilled teething rings got a thumbs up here at that age :) and my pal's baby took really well to teething powders.

Thanks for the advice on teething powders. Much easier to use!
