My DD, age. 2.6 yrs has basically stopped eating. She hasn't eaten a full meal for weeks now. She just picks at things and demands ice lollies! When I tell her 'No, you can't have an ice lolly for breakfast' she replies my tummy hurts'

Fortunately she drinks loads of milk but she is not eating much food at all. Will she become malnourished? Should I give her a vitamin supplement?

I'm at my wits end. Please help!

How is her weight? Is she maintaining it? If you are worried, I would talk to the doctor. Vitamin supplement for kids won't hurt.

Do you think she has a sore stomach, or is it something she uses to avoid eating because she thinks it will work? Generally, kids will eat if they are hungry, but if she is genuinely sore, then it might be more difficult for her.
Are there other symptoms or problems with digestion or eating?

Can you get her involved in making a few snacks during the day so that she is more likely to eat it? Might be worth a go if you haven't already tried it.
Does she snack between meals? You could try cutting out the snacks.

She may not have room for food if she has too much milk?

Hi, might try making snacks with her.

She had chickenpox about a month ago and the scars of the spots are still visible. When she tells me her tummy hurts, she points at the fading spots. When she did have the pox, those spots must have hurt so i understood her pointing at them, but surely not now?

I am going to take her to the doctor to get checked.

Thank you for your messages.
