Sticker Charts

I'm just wondering who uses sticker charts and at what age you started using one. My ds is nearly 2.5 and I want to find a more effective way of rewarding good behaviour and punishing bad.

I use a sticker chart for my dd who is 2.5 although it is for potty training rsther than behaviour. It seems to be doing the trick. As long as I always give her a sticker to put on her chart and one for her jumper!!!

It works very well for mine but they are almost 4 and 6. Don't think it would have worked for DS last year when he was almost 3 though.

I think they are best used for specific things. I used one for my DD for potty training. Initially she had a sticker for sitting on the potty and one for doing a wee. Then She had one for a wee and two for a poo. She loved it and it took less than a week to potty train her (not counting the odd accident, when she is out and about). She is 28 months. Sticker chart has gone away now, but I would bring it out again if I wanted to change something specific, but I think they can lose their value if they go on indefinitely. (At least that's what I was told in my teacher training ;-) )
