Any advice please on my 6 week old who cries and headbutts me in pain from reflux and constipation. How can I make her poo?

DD has been constipated for the last couple of weeks (7 weeks 4 days) and 24 hours after starting her on comfort milk she has pooed like a trooper today Grin

Iirc you're breastfeeding? We found before switching DD's formula that folding her legs up almost to her chin and cuddling her tight against her chest really got her bowels moving as did both Infacol and cooled boiled water - to begin with we let her sip from a cup!

HTH and she gets a bit better soon :)

Constipation: If you are bfing the best thing for constipation is to feed, feed and feed some more. If you are ff, it may be worth switching formula if that is an option. You can also try no nappy time, a bath and baby massage.

As for the reflux have you seen a Paed?

Colic: Have a read of this as it has some great information on Colic and 10 tips for comforting colicky babies.

Hi, if you switch to comfort you will need a teat with a larger whole as its a lot thicker. We tried it for a few days but it didn't seem to help my lil one so we switched back, but there are plenty of people who have success with it.

We went through the same thing. At six weeks his digestive issues peaked. He didn't have colic, but reflux and seemed uncomfortable generally, crying when veeding, writhing around etc. I went to doc and he put him on lactose free formula which worked a treat. We were on it for a week and he was like his old self again and then we switched back and had a bit of regression which is when i tried comfort for a few days but in the end it was just an age thing and he has gradually got better. He is 3 months now and we don't need to keep him upright for an hour after feeds anymore lest he throw up thank God!!

There is light at the end of the tunnel!!

If you are formula feeding get some Colief drops to ass to the milk. They turn babies poo back to the yellow soft stools of a breastfed baby xx
