4.5 yo with bum CONSTANTLY hanging out

Needless to say he's a boy. It's driving us completely mad. It's a combination of his being skinny and him pushing his trousers down so they sit on his non-existent hips rather than his waist. And his constantly having his hand down his pants [sigh].

Have tried braces (they ping off after a while), belts, stretchy waistbands, smaller sizes, bigger sizes. I'm thinking about dungarees but, fashion aside, I'm not sure he'll be able to go to the toilet on his own in them, and he's starting school in Sept. He doesn't seem to care in the slightest.

Any advice welcome! Please!

My 4 yo constantly had his hand down the back of his pants - (not to scratch down there BTW in case anyone thinks "worms". He was playing with the label on his pants - which were just the normal pants (like girl's knickers IYSWIM but with robots on). Put him in boxer type pants and voila. Bit baggier material wise but snugger fit round the waist. His trousers fit better due to bagginess and his hand no longer down playing with the label.

No idea if this will help you DS though...
