Crawling - commando, cross and now bear...

Dd started commando crawling at 6 months 3 weeks, then moved onto cross crawling a week later. Now at 8 months 3 weeks she has started bear crawling(hands and feets)....why is she doing this? Is she about to walk soon (I started walking at 8.5 months) or is it just a phase?

She is curing, standing unaided (very briefly, a couple of seconds), able to squat and pick things up.

Thanks.

Cross crawling is traditional hands and knees crawling.

I don't really understand the question? She's crawling that way because it's what she finds most comfortable to get around - maybe she just doesn't like her knees on the ground. I wouldn't say it had any bearing on how quickly she might walk or otherwise?

Oooh right, thanks, ith ought it was like a stage in crawling to walking. Thank you!

She may well be getting ready for walking as my DD started doing a month or so before she started walking, although she was a late walker (18mo).

Oh really? That's interesting, I'll keep you updated :-)
