dd2 has started slapping people round the face/head.
she has hit dd1 (5) several times today if she has gone on her trampoline, took a toy or got in her way. she has also hit childrenat playgroups for no reason.
i am telling her not to hit, make her say sorry, she kisses and cuddles her sister better afterwards and strokes her hair but then hits again.
if she does it twice i put her in the travel cot and play with dd1 to show her hitting doesnt get attention but not sure whats best to do.

dd1 never hit so ive never dealt with this.

I wouldn't go for the sorry bit- she doesn't really understand and is doing it just to please you. Get down to her level, look her in the eyes and tell her, calmly but very firmly that she is not to do it. Use the same, simple words each time AND remove her , every single time. Hold on to her when you remove her so that it is boring.

i think she thinks its a game, as she slapped dp last night then said sorry and kissed him without prompting.

She will-she doesn't understand so remove and make it boring.
