Funny little phobias - normal?

17mo DD is a happy little soul but she has got quite a few little phobias and I'm wondering if it's normal at that age. She seems to get over them pretty quickly, mind - she wouldn't sit down in the bath so I got in with her and then it was OK. She hated being put in the car seat until I went in the back with her - things like that. At the moment we're having a battle with toenail cutting, which is nigh on impossible. Is this typical 17 month behaviour or am I going to have a neurotic child on my hands?

Not sure I'd describe my DD's behaviour as phobias, but she is terrible at co-operating for anything which requires her being restrained - i.e. car seat, nappy changes, getting clothes on, getting nails cut, getting hair tied up, etc. She screams and cries and fights, but as soon as I'm finished she's as sweet as pie again! Very frustrating. My advice is to enjoy the good times when your DD is calm and co-operative!

Sounds like typical toddler behavior. My 18mo hates being put in her cat seat & getting her nails cut, also hates nappy changes and getting dressed. She went through a phase around a month ago of crying every time she went in the bath but thankfully seems to have got over that now.
Toddlers eh!!
