Terrible Twos

jofeb04 · 04/03/2006 13:49

My ds has ben suffering with the "terrable twos" for some time now, but has got pritty bad over the past couple of weeks.
i know its a normal and natural thing for him todo, but im worried hes going to either hurt himself or his ds (5months).
My ds will headbutt anything, kick the chairs and my dd cot, slaps the tv etv when he cant get his own way. We would try the naughty step but he loves sitting on it, and when we tried to take him to bed one afternoon as he had really bitten his ds foot, he fell asleep!
What else can we do? We do ignore it, but obviously we cant where his saftey and his ds is concerned.
Thanks

What is his exact age?

We found that the reward chart was good.

jo is he upset over the babys arrival? is it at daycare or ith u and baby all the time.
he might be feeling jealous. i would talk to your hv about it and perhaps she'll could rec somefurther advice

Hes just turned two, he's never shown any jealousy at all towards my dd, hes with us all the time, starting playgroup on the monday.
He seems to take it alot out on himself, if he falls over on a curb (for example), he'll then kick it, if he wants some more water and we say no, he throws it at us.

read what you have just described in your little boy and ask that question of hermykne's again! Smile

He mightn't come up and say "hey mummy, you know what? I am feeling really jealous over that new baby's arrival" he might jus t behave like this as his way of telling you.

Could equally be something else, just wanted you to beware expecting the signs to be obvious or explicitly stated!
