Everone keeps saying 'oh they don't all do things quickly' about 10mth old DD.

DD is 10mths old and not yet rolling around, crawling, standing or trying to walk. She can roll but chooses not to.

She can sit with great ease and stretch to reach something without toppling over etc. I wasn't very worried about this but in the past few days I have had no less than five people comment on how 'she will get there' or 'oh they don't all do things quickly' etc..

What should I do?

Katy she's walking now (finally!) - still does a bit of crawling & knee walking sometimes though!

Give your DD a few more weeks and she'll be off! My DD seemed to take aaaages to start walking properly but she's fairly steady now so I think she was just building her confidence up!

my friend and I had babies 1 day apart. my ds walked before a year, her dd didn't ever crawl, but took up a kind of bum bouncy to get around at about 15 months. she didn't walk till nearer 2. but everything since then - running, reading, writing, jumping - she has done before my ds. they are all different. enjoy your sitting still sleeping baby. having been cursed blessed with non sleeping, climbing, early walkers I would swap in an instant!

starme my dd seams to be about 3 weeks behind your dd if you put her on the floor she will stand now sort think about it then sit, if you call her she will walk to you (like Frankenstein) but sometimes she won't have it and when you try to make her stand she will just bend her legs :) little madam!!!

Katy There was no rushing my DD either, she did it when she was ready , & if you pushed her she would refuse to do it at all - they sound very similar!

OP are you me? I can relate to most things you have said.

My mum has said something very similar to me today. DD2 (DC3) is 10 months today. All she can do is roll, clap and sit until she tries to reach then she topples over and gets frustrated she can't move. She's funny with food, she can eat slop or proper food she can chew a bit, but she refuses to have the stage 2 food or anything to drink. She is a very sleepy baby too and always has been. Her first few weeks of life she was awake in total for 2 hours a day max. The plus side of that is that nights were sorted very quickly, she would have a feed at 10PM, another at 2AM and straight back to sleep till 7AM.

Someone did say to me when DC1 (DS) was this age (as he was slow too) that they are always developing, while they are not developing their physical attributes they are developing mentally.
