4 yr old son aggressive for no reason!

I was called in to see my sons key worker at pre school today as at outside time he randomly pushed a child over then preceded to be violent to 2 others so he was spoken to and told off and taken away from outside play. He is generally a good boy but does have spells of lashing out for no reason and is told off, however they said he revellled in the attention from the all adults and just thought it was funny and it didnt take it seriously at all. He loves the attention he gets when he is told off and I don't know whether I should ask him about what happened at pre school and disipline accordingly or just leave it as they have dealt with it. Apparently his behaviour has been declining for the last week and he absolutely hates change and realises he will be leaving pre school soon and going to big school and at pre school they think this is what is causing this behaviour. I just don't want him starting school going round being aggressive just to get attention!! Any advice of any one else who has gone through something similar and how they handled it would be very much appreciated!! Thanks x

He won't be the only one, my 4yo who is pretty docile as 4yos go (This is my 4th, so I am quite expert on 4yos by now) engages in lots of attention-seeking petty aggression lately.

Nothing to do but the usual firm & consistent reprimands, I find.
