just picked up dd and been told she has just bitten a little boy on the face! Im so cross with her right now so ive put her in her room she is 2.6 and seems to understand what she has done and said she bit him because he was sad. I have apologised to the other parents but feel so angry

I dont think there is any need to be angry, your daughter is only 2 and these things happen. Maybe sit her down later when you are calm and explain how it is wrong to bite and it makes other children upset. Really not worth getting toto worked up over one incident, just keep an eye on it.

Hi going - don't worry, children often bite. Her reason sounds slightly odd but I know my dd (2yrs) wouldn't necessarily be able to explain something that happened at creche. - I'm a teacher and have seen children bite for lots of different reasons. Maybe she felt threatened, perhaps she is copying something she has seen others do - (my dd sometimes pretends to bite and tells me that X at the creche does it). Please don't be too angry. It may just be a one off. Give her a big cuddle and explain why you were so angry and then have a cup of Brew
