Sleep regression AND climbing out of cot!

Hi all I wonder if anyone has any advice about what to do with my 17 month old newborn please? Serious case of sleep regression. Teething was to blame initially (she's had ten cut through in the last two months, the poor mite) but now they're through it's just habit that she's not sleeping through and more often than not she's back in bed with us tossing and turning from about 3am. Yuck!

As if that wasn't stressful enough, she's now decided to climb out of her cot. We're very serious about getting her a little toddler bed now, and obviously her safety has to come before our sanity (!) but is this really a good time to do it? Or is it a case of oh well, she's all over the place sleep-wise anyway, we might as well go for it now and kill two birds with one stone? Or should I try to re-set her before the bed arrives and hope she won't climb out in the meantime? I feel like we've got a bit of a race against time on our hands.

If she's climbing out you need to change for safety's sake. However, if she used to 'go through' in her cot and is now waking up and then being brought into your bed, I would put a stop to it if you want her to go back to sleeping through. When DS woke too early I used to go in, give him a cuddle and then lie him down and tell him it was sleepy time still (he was only a baby then!) and put some music on and leave him again.
