My 20 month old does headstands

They're like the yoga dog pose no hands, the weight right on her head. I think it is just for attention. She is not necessarily angry or upset. She's been doing this for 2-3 weeks. I try to ignore it and act uninterested but she is still doing it and I wish she would stop before she breaks her neck.

any other suggestions?

Have no suggestions how to stop I am afraid just that my DD,21 months, started this the past couple of weeks also, but intitially it was in an effort to stop me putting her top on and I assume she likes the view from there. I normally bend down to her and say 'hello' which makes her laugh and leave it at that. She then tires of it and moves on to something else. Perhaps it is something she will grow out of?

My 2 year old did this at around 22 months, though she put her hands on the ground too. I did exactly the same as oasis - peek through legs and say hello, and she starts laughing.

Now she does it and says she's Mowgli (Jungle Book)....I must admit, it doesn't worry me anymore (but then, she is using her hands) I'm just impressed that she's that flexible!

we called it bottoms up and turned it into a fun thing by pulling her legs up and making a backward roll out of it.

I actively encourage my 20 mth old to do this. His flexibility makes me green with envy.

My DD has been doing this since 10 months! She loves to do it after her bath, so we always have her little bare bottom in the air. She will actually go into this position when she is playing and actually stay like that for a couple of minutes! Strange kid:)

Ds - 25 mths - does this, since about 18 mths.
I make fun of it, like the others.
He seems to like being upside down and I hold him upside down , with his head in my lap, alot.
He loves doing forward rolls on the bed and can nearly manage one himself !!
Don't worry, its fine - I don't think she'll break her neck Smile
