My 9 yr old boys are so grumpy

Hi All

I am new on the board, and posting because I am at my wits end.

I have twin boys 9, and they are so grumpy all the time. It's like I'm on egg shells all the time.

The tiniest thing sets them off, and they walk around the house dragging their feet with a face on them.

They fight with each other all the time.

It's like my house has gone from being this lovely peaceful place, to a war zone in a few months.

They have had a tough year, with a large amount of emotional stress, and some of this is still ongoing (and out of my control)

I wonder is this just a part of growing up, learning and adapting to these emotions.

How do I help them, I need to not over compensate but it's hard :(

Help !!!!!!

Bt

my 8 yo dd is going through a grumpy stage -think it's pretty standard

I let her have her strop then talk to her about whether her reaction to an event was appropriate and how she could have handled it differently

my older dd went through the same thing and at 11 she has calmed down a lot -just waiting for the teenage years to kick in now lol

Ha ha I'm trying not to think about the teenage years.

Yes I'm hoping it's a phase rather than the start of bad behaviour. WIll have to monitor and see how it progresses
