Just want to know what other peoples 11 months olds are doing routine wise. DS2 has suddenly gone all over the place and I am desperately trying to jig him back into some kind of routine but wondered what I should be heading for (can't remember what the hell I am doing !!!!)

Please no-one quote Gina Ford or any other book to me - just want to know what other peoples babes at this age are up to, to see if there is a general pattern.

Thanks everyone :)

my ds is 18mths now.

at 11 months he followed this kind of a routine:

up at 7ish

milk feed then brekkie staright away

morning sleep had been at 9ish but by 11 months was getting later more like 10 / 10:30 and he would usually sleep for about 45 mins. he did away with this sleep at about 1yr.

lunch at 12

afternoon nap 1 - 3pm (ish!)

dinner at 5 / 5:30

bath at 6

milk feed at 6 45

bed at 7.

Thanks ja9, sounds kind of what DS2 is doing - loosely!! Think he is heading for a slightly later morning nap but I have to keep waking him during his afternoon nap for the school run. AAARRHH.

Did you give bottles at any other time apart from morning and bed?

Any other peoples routines gladly welcome. Pllleeease!! :)

Right when DD was this age she was still on two naps but heading towards one. You might like to consider one long nap at about 12 ish so that it doesn't interfere with the school run. Depends whether he is quite able to last out with just the one.

DD was on cup of milk in a morning first thing and mid-afternoon although I might have dropped that one - can't remember and on a bottle at bedtime. She was up between 6 and 7 (not great) with milk then, breakfast at 7.30 - 8.15 depending on day, nap at 9.30 ish, then snack, lunch at 12 ish, short afternoon nap, snack/milk, dinner at 6, bath at 7, in bed by 7.30.

DD at 11 months: up at 6.30ish, mid morning nap for about 45 minutes, mid afternoon nap for about 1.5 to 2 hours, bed around 7.30ish.

She dropped her morning nap at about 14 months, and started having really early lunch (11.15 - 11.30) and sleeping for at least two hours afterwards.

There you go!

Thanks, this is really helpful.

When you say 'mid morning' and 'mid afternoon' what sort of times are we talking about?

If you are interested, my dd's routine is up at 7am, brekkie approx 8-8.30, am nap (bfed to sleep) 10-11am, lunch 12.30ish, pm nap (bfed again) 2.00pm, snack at 4.00ish, sups at 6.00, bath at 7.00pm followed by bed (bfed again) 7.30ish. This can get quite flexible if we are up to anything.

LilaM · 02/03/2006 16:48

Pm nap only an hour too.

my boys are 11 months.
They are up at 7.30 for a bottle, breakfast at 9.15, mid mornign drink and maybe a snack at 11, lunch at 12.15, bottle of milk and sleep for couple of hours. teatime is 5ish, then bottle and bed at 6. They also have a dreamfeed at 10, but I'm workign on cutting out that one! They have a bath when I feel like it.

Kelly1978 · 02/03/2006 16:55

oh the bottle and sleep is abt 1-1.30ish.

lahdeedah · 02/03/2006 16:56

I'm finding this useful too!

My 11 month old DD usually follows this routine - very loosely:

7.30-ish: wake-up + cup of milk
8.30-ish: breakfast
10-ish: nap (anywhere between 30mins to 1.5hrs)
12.30-ish: lunch
2.30-ish: nap (30 mins - 1.5hrs, depends how long she slept in the morning)
4-ish: cup of milk
6-ish: teatime
7-ish: bath
7.30-ish: cup of milk then bed

The last couple of days have been really weird though - she has been really hard to settle in the evenings, then sleeping in until 9am, and she has only had one 30 min nap today. She's got a bit of a cold and probably teething, hope she settles down again soon!! Smile
