5 month growth spurt straight after 4 month growth spurt? What?

Is my tiny monster really having another growth spurt at exactly 5 months, only two weeks or so after his epic 4 month growth spurt tailed off? He woke every hour/hour and a half last night to feed (whereas his usual pattern is every two hours or so - FML). He has been eating hourly in the day today, and being very cranky and sleeping a lot - the usual signs of his spurtiness. Sucky rather than chewy, so I don't think it's teethiness. He is EBF, rolling one way, not sitting unaided yet, still 'tongue-thrusting' so I don't think he's ready for solids, so I'm not interested in suggestions of baby rice, because it has fewer calories than breastmilk anyway (or formula for that matter). I haven't read much about a 5 month growth spurt, but if it is one, this will probably put him over the top into solids territory in any case. Anyone else had this experience at 5 months? Is my baby really The Incredible Hulk in disguise?

It's entirely possible. AFAIK there is no set times for growth spurts. DS went through a phase of big belly, growth spurt, big belly, growth spurt constanty for about 4 months
