Cutting toenails

My 15month year old won't let me cut her toenails even when sleeping. She is very ticklish and retracts her toes when touched. I've tried all manner of distractions in the waking hours but sleep-clipping isn't working either. Any help?!?!?

My midwife told me to file the nails. You can buy baby files in boots for 99p

TV is the only (kind) thing that works for us. Restraint is the only other option and even then the neighbours must be wondering what on earth is going on!!

Ahhhh yes, this was a 2 man job with DS. I'd pin DS down and DP would cut his nails.

I used to just wait until he was sound asleep. 23 months now and now directs me during the operation. He'll get there..,

Do foot massage, playing with feet etc to get LO more used to you handling feet and let them watch you cut yours too.
You may have to resort to holding on with help reading story or something distracting. Do you have a friend that is able? some of my frinds find it hard but as I am used to doing it I do their LO feet. The babies seem to realsie I mean business and are better behaved. When they are used to it it is easier for parents to have a go.

I bribe dd1 (2.3Yo). If she let's me cut her toenails and fingernails without putting on a turn, I paint her toenails for her which she absolutely loves. The sparklier the better. It has never failed.
