14mo grinding teeth

My DS (14.5months) has recently started grinding his teeth, and he does it almost constantly. DH and I tell him no but he obviously doesn't understand what he's doing wrong so we end up giving him his dummy to get him to stop, dummy is normally only used at naps/bedtime and I would prefer that he didn't become overly reliant on it during the day but I don't know how else to stop him.

I am worried about it damaging his teeth, even though it's only his baby teeth but am also concerned that it will form a habit that will continue once he has his adult teeth plus the noise absolutely turns me

Has anyone else had this and how did you stop it?

He'll out grow it. My dentist says baby teeth were made so you can do stuff like this. Grin

Dd did/does this every time she gets new teeth, I HATE it! I just ignore it though and she soon forgets about it.

It's really cringey isn't it?!
