DS (6) sweats excessively at night - should I be worried?

He has never done this previously but over the last month or so, he is literally drenched in sweat overnight - it has usually dried by the morning but he goes to bed at 8 and when I check on him at my bedtime (at 10.30ish) he is drenched and on the odd occasions he gets up in the night, he is still wet.

His PJ's and bedsheets stink by the morning and I am having to change them all the time. His hair stinks every morning...

His room is the coldest in the house - he shares with DS2 who does not sweat. He does insist on literally burying himself under the duvet which probably doesn't help but I cannot stop him doing that. Again, he has always done that so why has he started sweating so much now?

Is it hormones/age?

I had a similar problem with DS. He used to bury himself under the duvet until he was roasting hot. We soon realised that it was because he was having really bad dreams and was scared. Could this be the cause?

The sweating may be due to a testosterone surge????

I'd pop him to the GP, just to make sure that it's nothing medical.

I'd take him to GP to be checked over. My DS used to do this and combined with the swollen lymph nodes he'd had since age
1 and a half I was in a proper state. He's fine though :)

I had this with dd5. Been checked out and couldnt find anything wrong, seems to be getting a bit better over the last year or so on it's own.
