21 mo suddenly unsettled - normal development or impending arrival of sibling?

Our 21mo DS has suddenly gone from settling really quickly and without fuss for an hour and a half's nap after lunch and same at 7pm to refusing to nap at lunchtime and now this evening crying for "mummy cuddle" for nearly an hour. I stopped work last week (37 weeks pregnant) but he has continued to go to nursery for 2 days this week, so his routine has not changed abruptly. He seems quite keen on the idea of "baby brother" - wants to cuddle bump, say hello, interested in looking at clothes, toys etc for him so I hadn't considered that he was worried about it. His language has really come on leaps and bounds the last couple of weeks so I wondered whether the unsettled behaviour was linked to that (we had a bout of constant tantrums back in February with a similar leap in development). Any ideas or similar experiences?

Could be dropping his nap? Ds has been really hard to get to sleep so I haven't bothered with a nap for the last couple of days. Its that tricky bit where he sort of doesn't but sort of does need it.
