hi, anyone out that reads this i would really appreciate some help, my 6 year old has specific additional needs at school in everything including dressing and eating, at home she cannot dress herself she cannot wash her hair and she cannot cut up her food yet, i am partially disabled myself so cannot give her the full support a normal parent could give her, i am a single parent and i think my daughter and myself need a little help.

I think you need to talk to your GP about getting additional support. Hope you manage to get something sorted.

Are you meaning extra help at home not school?
By the sound of it you may well be entitled to disability allowance for her, and possibly carers for you (if she gets middle level)
I agree with talking to GP and possibly school nurse may be able to advise too.

Sounds like you need a referral to a childrens occupational therapist, usually based at a child development centre. School or GP can refer.

Hi joannee, why dont you pop over to the special needs children board , it is just underneath Am I Being Unreasonable.

We are a friendly bunch with loads of experience.

Good luckSmile
