Hi everyone, my daughter is 7 yrs old and she gets up early every day she's full of beans all day. Also because she is full on she is always hurting her self she is mega clumsy.... When it comes to bed time she will do anything to get out of bed such as she wants a drink she needs a wee or she will just sit up and get toys in her bed and she's not even sleepy . I get grumpy & stressed then as I get no time to myself to have adult time with my partner in the nights... I love the way she is and even though she is hyper she's a good hyper not a naughty hyper but it's 24/7 . So if anyone got any tips on how to help please let me know. Very stressful I'm sleeping before her which is not good xox

Are you trying to put her to bed too early?
I would discuss it with her. Have a set routine and explain that once she is ready for bed she stays there. If she needs to go to the toilet she just goes, give her a glass of water and say that she can read but she stays in her room.

Has she always been like this or is it a recent development?

Have a sports bottle for drinks in her room and she can go to the bathroom on her own at 7. Perhaps a story cd to listen to that will help her unwind? What time does she go to bed. She is old enough to understand sanctions, and I know you appreciate her lovely happy personality but bedtime is bedtime and that is that! In our house if you fart about for an hour longer you go to your bedroom an hour earlier the next night...meanie.....

I am 100% into my children but I need my evenings to unwind and have quiet, does she do any physical activities after school? If she needs to stay up later, fine but she has to stay in ner bedroom...reading!
