Dd is 11mo and learnt to smack/scram a while agI, while I've been doing my very best to ignore her when she does it, she hasn't stopped doing it. Doesn't have to be havIng a tantrum or anything and while I know shes very litte and prob doesnt know what she's doing, a big part of me actually thinks she does!

So how do u stop smacking? or do I just have to wait for her I grow out of it?

She is curious about the reaction it elicits, it does not yet have a meaning 4 her other than that at the mo, as she cannot imagine another persons perspective. She enjoys the cause and effect element, just like a light up toy or button press for sounds. Its just a stage if that helps!

I never thought about it that way, thanks.

put her down instantly when she does it, so the effect is she gets ignored rather than an entertaining scream/ouch.
dd2 goes on floor if she bites/hits, if she repeatedly touches something like tv screen after i say no she goes in travel cot.
