DP's 5 yr old son bit my 7 yr old DD on Saturday. We had a chat with him and explained that even though he thought it was part of a game him and my 2 DD's were playing it was not acceptable behaviour.
His Mum has just been at the door. She was informed by nursery that he tried to bite another child this morning. His nursery key worker had words with him about it as well and suggests we monitor his behaviour.
We're all at a loss what to do. Also he is delayed in development and behaviour for a 5yr old hence still being at nursery as he was held back a year. He is small for his age but constantly fights with other kids no matter how old/big they are and thinks this is just playing. His speech is still a little behind but he has proven on many occasions that he does have an understanding of his behaviour and that fighting and biting are wrong.
Any tips on how to overcome this stage greatly appreciated
