General rant...

Baby girl is 12 weeks old and is an angel. Feeds well (apart from bit of reflux), sleeps from 9pm to 5/6ish, naps during day, feeds every 3 hrs during day which is gradually stretching to 3.5 hrs, happy, smiley baby generally. Perfect. Just think I've cracked it and now I'm constantly getting "another month and she'll be weaning then..." and "oh is she still in her Moses basket in with you? My LO was in his/her own room by then", "when will she sit up", "when will she crawl", "she's very big". My absolute favourite from Hubby's nan "did the Dr say shes too fat?"!?!?!?! Talk about pressure!!! I know nothing about weaning, I don't want to put her in her own room until I'm ready and yes, she is big but she's healthy.

Rant over. Feel free to offer kind words to make me feel better and not totally overwhelmed by everything changing. Thanks.

Oh, and if someone could just tell me when to wean, how to do it, write out a list of acceptable foods, write out a routine to include naps and bottles and the amount of formula needed I'd be grateful. For goodness sake.

People always say bizarre things and almost sound like they know your baby better than you. Just do exactly what you want and when you are ready. Just nod in the right places and carry on Grin

Sirzy · 06/06/2012 15:14

Just nod and smile and carry on as you are!

Wolfiefan · 06/06/2012 15:16

Best advice? Always make sure their backs are turned before you do the rude faces and gestures! If you get caught out then pretend you have something in your eye and it takes that number of fingers to remove it. They should bog off. Your baby. Your way! Enjoy!

Wolfiefan · 06/06/2012 15:17

PS. When will she crawl etc? When she is good and ready!

MacaroniSaysShetlandPony · 06/06/2012 15:21

Following on from Wolfie's excellent advice - don't be tempted to bitch about any visitors unless you've first checked the baby monitor is switched off / in a different room....

You know you are doing ok. I agree with the turning the back and pulling faces. Childish I know but makes you feel better Wink. Sometimes I find people say things because they can't think of anything to say and it's in the same vane as " ooh who she looks like her father" " and the classic" oh he/she is sooo advanced".
