Speech or lack of, how worried should I be...

DS2 is 10 months. He is very very nearly crawling (rolls over & over, can crawl backwards), waves, puts arms up to be lifted, leans towards thing/person he wants, has great pincer grip, can drink from cup etc. i made the really fucking stupid mistake of checking a milestone list today & am now slightly panicked. He is making no effort to talk or babble at all. He makes lots of incoherent noises; a sort of "uhhh-uhhh" grunt when he is concentrating, shrieks when excited and has recently a low, persistent "hum" when tired. No babbling, no syllables, no Mamama/dadada etc.

DS1 was very slow on physical milestones; never crawled, didnt walk till 16 months etc but was bang on with speech and is a very, very talkative child. But I cannot for the life of me remember what he was doing at the same age.

I suspect I already know the answer to this but should I be worried?

NO!

Every child is different. If still no babbling by 12 months possibly speak to your HV. But dont worry Smile
