Shes exhausted, so am i and she wont go to sleep. Its hot, i get it but i am feeling less than compassionate at this minute. Any tips to help her get to sleep amd me to stay sane while she does. Or is it just too hot and i have to put up with it.

We have different rules when its really hot and light in the evenings - DS2 (5)(as did his two older sibs) can play or potter about upstairs/ 'read' on his bed while I sort out the laundry and other sundry upstairs jobs, until it gets a bit cooler and darker.

I have always found its just not worth the fuss and bother of us all getting steaming hot and bothered about it in this weather.

He went off to bed about 7.30 as usual but it sounded as if he then spent a happy 20 minutes singing 'wind the bobbin up' with his teddies!

Looks like he might of finally gone off, only took 2 and a half hours !!
