Jeans for my 7 yr old

Couldnt find a topic for this arghh!
my dd is tall and quite thickset ( a little chubby maybe) she has big hips and thighs and it is really hard to get trousers to fit. Most shops seem to be selling skinny fits which are definitely out & I've tried upsizing but even age 9 are far too tight in the bum and thighs.
Does anywhere sell a boyfriend style or looser linen style in jeans colour? She has great cut offs that are linen-y from Next and Gap but no full length ones.

I think Next do some trousers in a 'bigger' fit don't they? Some jeans I think. Also I'm sure M&S are/were doing this too.

The bigger fit are for kids with fat bellies Smile
I have same problem with my 6 year old.. size of an 8 year old, who is not fat but has much bigger than average thighs in proportion to her slim waist and chest so upsizing doesn't work...... she's just like her ma Grin
Pointless buying the plus as they are the wrong cut and for a different shape of child,
I haven't solved it, but will follow your page with interest, I go for wide leg via charity shops and eBay as they just aren't so readily available now.
Suspect they will have this problem for life, I have Sad

.. forgot to add her big sis is complete opposite.. so skinny itwas impossible in the old days to get her anything that didn't flap round her wee sticks like a tent... wish style had gone the other way round and I'd had the skinnies for her!

DD has a similar shape. We have sometimes found baggier-cut jeans in the boys' section (but then they usually need a belt to hold them up) but at the moment she has two pairs of jeggings from H&M, thicker than ordinary leggings, they look like jeans, but stretchy and they fit perfectly.

She's 9, and tall (about 5', I think - the height of a 12-13 year old already) so I think will be moving into women's petite ranges soon for a better range of fits for her height.

You might want to look into Levis kids - they do a range of fits & in the past when I've had the opposite problem to you, with with my then very long but not skinny DD, they were the only ones I could find - DD fit the T range perfectly, which I think stands for Tall

once I knew about that I managed to pick them up pretty easily from US sellers on e-bay, never any trouble & no import duty :)

I buy boys jeans for dd, gap and fatface do wider legged girls jeans.my dd currently loves chino type trousers from next as they seem to thin out at the ankles and are wider in the thigh, she finds them very comfy and dont cut into her bottom.
