Hello all
My dd is showing all the signs of teething, however no teeth or swollen gums. but today she was biting her uncles finges and he felt a possible tooth right at the back of her mouth i.e. Molar. is this possible?
Thanks
Issyhe

I haven't heard of it - it's almost always the front bottom two first as far as I know. I might be wrong. It's also worth knowing that they can 'teethe' for ages, months even before anything actually shows up.

I am not going to say it is impossible, but it would be extremely unlikely. As Babydoll said, the front bottom teeth come first. Usually, the first molars appear after the first 8 front teeth are through (4 bottom and 4 top).

Isabelandbigjohn.. My DS seems to be cutting his back teeth first as well so while unusual def not unheard of!!

Hey, my DD is 16 weeks, can see an eye tooth on the top left of her gum and a tooth further back coming through. Been confirmed by child smile dentist so it's unusual but not impossible!

brettgirl2 · 23/05/2012 20:32

Books mine was like that at 16 weeks then at 18 weeks the bottom two wopped through the gum from pretty much nowhere! I was convinced she was going to get the others first!

booksandchoc · 23/05/2012 22:18

Oh don't tell me that brettgirl. She's having a tough enough time as it is, between teething and the heat she just isn't happy at the mo Sad

Sometimes the front two TOP teeth can come first. Which you don't expect when it's DC4. So it's not always the bottom two first.

Yes I agree with cardymow. My DS got his top front teeth first, and a full three months before his bottom front teeth came through....so anything is possible really
