DOES ANYONE ON HERE RUN A TODLER GROUP?

or do you know anyone who runs one? just really wanted to know what was involved is it as simple as hiring a hall running a activie? do you need any type of insurance?

is that a no then! or are you all there now running your sessions

Don't run one as such but helped 'relaunch' one when it had lost its way a bit. So not sure I can really help out on starting up stuff, I'm afraid.
Ours is in a church hall - guess they have the usual public liability cover. And we get new members to sign a form saying they take responsibility for their child.

Don't know but if it is run in a public place like a village hall you would need public liability insurance

great help thaxs. starting a small party business, bouncy castles face painting ect, and just wondering if i could do some sort of permant group like a weekly todlers so they can make use of equipment with a small fee, and was thinking it would promote my business. I am getting my own public liablity insurance so will ask the insurance company if that will be included in the price!

yep I set one up and got grants for it and Mummyhill also on here runs the other side of it

you need a hall and insurance, alot of churches etc let you run on there insurance the one that we use does

and there is loads of money out there for non profit making childrens groups to buy new toys with etc

Your insurance for parties will cost more than the insurance for a toddler group, which is quite minimal as parents stay with the children at all times and remain responsible for them. Party insurance is quite hefty comparatively. I would think your insurers would be happy to add the toddler group cover to your premium.

I set up my own group and would be happy to answer any other questions if it would help. I think the group would be great publicity for your business and also contribute to the local community, so a winner all round!

hire castles to playgroup ?

are just be part of an existing playgroup ?

why dont you contact surestart at newcastle via council i think, the do loads of things in spring/summer with the kids, also school fairs send letters/emails to local schools offer them a percentage of what you take on the day as donation to school, i know my ds is having football tournament in may i will put a word in if you think you will have equipment and be set up by then

play group idea is just a little regular earner hopefully. Just thinking take the equipment to a church hall or community center charge a couple of pound per child give them a apple and a drink of juice! If we could do say 2 weekdays with 20-30 kids a session means the equipment isnt just sitting there collecting dust! And hopefully the insurance we get for the rental business will cover us for the groups as there parents will be there.
