Teething blister - normal?

Hi there

My dd has her 1st molar coming through. But over the last week I have noticed that her gum has a lump on it which looks to me like a blister. It has got bigger and there is still no sign of the tooth.

Has any else experienced this? Is it normal or should I take her to be checked out?

Well my dd had this too, around 6 weeks old......she's now 10 months and still no tooth!

We were so excited...sigh....

Thanks for your reply. Smile

Has anyone else seen this before? Gonna take dd to the dentist I think.

Sounds like an eruption cyst. All perfectly normal but apparently a bit uncomfortable. They look horrific but burst as the tooth comes through and then all is well again.

My DS had them with all 4 of his first molars and most of his incisors too.

My sister and my uncle - both dentists - told me not to worry.

Hope that helps!

Does it have a blue tinge?

Thank you balletmoo. I took her to the gp and they said not to worry. It just looks so horrible. But as she is still eating and having her dummy it can't be as bad as it looks. Smile

Just wondering why you didn't take her to the dentist? It sounds like an eruption cyst.
