Potty Training - Help!

Ds (2 and a quarter) has decided that he doesn't want to wear nappies.
He's got the hang of weeing in the potty, as long as he's naked or in pants... but this morning after having 3 wees in 20 minutes (all in the potty), he was dressed in trousers and then wet himself.
Is it normal for toddlers to wee so many times in such a short time or is it a sign that he has a very small bladder - or do I need to encourage him to stay sitting on the potty until his bladder is completely empty???

Any advice on getting him to poo in the potty also greatfully received!
