he's unhappy at school at break times as most of the boys play football (he's never liked it - although I've suggested maybe he should give it another go), and the girls are now in girl groups! Any suggestions to help him?

?Are there any other boyds who don't play football?

Does he have friends home after school? That usually helps.

It's horrible when you feel excluded at school, but I don't think he should have to fake an interest in football to have friends. There must be other boys who aren't included. You could maybe build on his confidence so that he doesn't feel left out so much as an individual who doesn't have to follow the herd and also encourage him to talk to some of the other boys who don't kick a ball. There are also other games to be played at breaks (marbles for instance) that might have some fans among his peers.

have you invited other lads around, scout around for the nice mums & invite their sons. Does he go to any regular clubs or activities?
