Honestly - is it 'normal' for 17 month Ds to have enjoyed throwing his toys for so many months? Woried.

My lovely DS loves throwing. I can stand the food - I can even understand it. but he throws a lot of his toys. He likes sorting and posting and other age appropriate stuff, and he will stack and build sometimes. but then he throws it. Whatever it is. He won't use a toy car by pushing it along. he will throw it.

it's been like this for several months and it sort of gets to me now. Is it 'normal'? when does it ease up? or should i be woried?

Thanks that's helpful link. I just found it so relentless. And I'd like him to play with his cars and not throw them!

My DS went through this phase and I was worried about it because it can be dangerous. He went to nursery and he was throwing things there and hit other children at times. I solved it within a couple of weeks thoug, when it got quite bad. If he threw something, it was taken away and placed on the microwave for 30 minutes (he coudn't reach up there, but could see whatever he threw). I was consistent with it and as I say, it didn't last long after that. Used the same technique with my Nephe and he doesn't throw things in my house anymore.

Its a schema and he will grow out of it
DS was exactly the same it drove me nuts! I think it finally stopped when he was about 20 months ish. Stay strong it will pass!
