dd in nap/bedtime limbo?

My 2.8 dd seems to be in a limbo state at the moment when it comes to afternoon nap and bedtime. She still basically has a sleep in the day (for up to 2.5 hrs if I let her, usually wake her after an hour and half) but just does not seem tired at bedtime (7.30 ish). However if she doesn't go to sleep in the day she is Soooooooo tired by bedtime that she is an absolute fruit loop and will often have severe melt downs.
But if she does sleep she is so difficult to put to bed as doesn't seem that tired which will equally lead to a meltdown as she wants to carry on playing.
I feel like I can't win ay the moment. Has anyone else been through this? Do u think she's ready to give up her nap?

Yes she is ready to give up her nap. My dd1 was the same. I just replaced the nap time with quiet time e.g watch tv for half and hour and give an extra snack mid afternoon. If she gets really bad I take her out in the car and if she sleep I wake her up after 20 mins which is enough to get her to bed time Smile

Yes, we have this with our 2.8yo DS too! Without a nap he will sleep from 7pm to 6.15am or later. With a nap (1 hour or more_ he'll only sleep 8pm-6am (or earlier). He alternates between the two and it's often a nap inducing car trip which will move him from pattern 1) to pattern 2). When he has had a nap, he's a pickle at bedtime. Like today, tried to put him down at 7pm, then at 7.30am he was found taking his duvet and pillow into his sister's room to have a sleep over...
