You'd think I would know by now as our new ds is our 3rd child but I can't remember the baby days :)

Ds is 2 weeks old and just sleeps all the time....he wakes up to feed and might have a look around but then feeds and falls straight back to sleep. I'm not expecting a great deal from him at this age but I just wondered if it was usual to sleep so much.....

Pretty much what mine done, sleep cry and eat!

Anchorwoman · 30/04/2012 19:18

Yep, same here. Dd is 6 weeks now and gradually becoming more wakeful, but for the first 4 weeks she just slept around the clock more or less. Couldn't even be bothered to open her eyes to feed sometimes!

Yep! Sounds normal!

Dottymcdot · 30/04/2012 19:25

I would not worry completely normal, sleep too, when DS becomes more wakeful you will regret not using this time wisely.

ilovespinach · 30/04/2012 19:37

thanks :)

I think you may be right Dottymcdot!

Ha,ha,ha! I did this with ds2. When the hv came round I said I was worried he was sleeping too much, clearly she just nodded and smiled at me like i was a bit loopy. I think about a month in the honeymoon period was over and I found I had another powernapper. Enjoy while you can!

Busybee100 · 30/04/2012 23:56

This is exactly what my dd was like and I was the exact same as you wondering if that was ok! Just the norm :)

Empusa · 30/04/2012 23:57

Yep sounds like DS, now he is a colicky 5 week old I'm missing the sleepy 2 week old!
