Poo regression

My son has been toilet trained since he was 2.5 - 3 years old. He is now nearly 5 and in his first year of school. Lately he has started doing mini poos in his pants on an almost daily basis - sometimes several times a day. He says he doesnt feel it coming and even after sitting on the toilet he will then do a splurt in his pants. I've tried to get him to sit on the toilet for longer, and have given out to him about holding on too long before going to the toilet.

I am at my wits end as to how to deal with this and it seems to be getting worse at the mo. Any advice?

We had wee regression with our dd when we moved house and she started school. We put it down to stress and she gradually stopped of her own accord. If he really can't feel a poo though I would suggest getting a doctor to check him out.

yes I would agree GP to discuss

he may have chronic constipation with impaction ( a big lump of poo stuck near exit) and overflow (liquid poo runs around the block and leaks out of the rear end which may be distended)
