Just that really. Am getting impatient for a proper hug!

Dunno - I get the occasional sleepy snuggle at 21 months, plus requests for bumped head rubbing, or if upset for some other reason I'm clung to (and deafened)... plus I'm apparently a comfortable chair for TV watching but no sign of a spontaneous hug yet.

DS 12 months doesn't yet cuddle me, but he does occasionally rub his head against mine (and dribbles on my face) or lays his head against me.

Nevercan · 23/04/2012 17:56

I have just started getting proper cuddles at 2.5 Grin

My dd1 is nearly 5 and never gave me spontaneous cuddles until her sister arrived and did from a few months old. Dd2 is a very cuddly child and dd1 isn't. Dd1 will now cuddle me but only to get her share when she feels her sister has had enough cuddles!Grin

Capitaltrixie · 23/04/2012 18:43

Just before 2 for my dd. I was wondering the same funnily enough (and getting impatient!) lovely when in happens Grin strangely coincided with arrival of dd2 here too!

Northernlurker · 23/04/2012 18:45

How old is your dc? I can't remember exactly but I think dd1 was definately way past 2. She wasn't a very cuddly baby though she loves a good hug now (aged 14). Dd2 and dd3 were both noticeably more tactile. I am inclined to link it in their case to the fact that I co-slept with them but I've no evidence at all for that and they are very different personalities (of course) to dd1.

Oh dear - looks like I have a while to wait then! He's 10mo. Not remotely snuggly although does like to be carried around and held. When he cries he actively pushes away from me rather than snuggling in! Oh well at least I know it's normal...I'm very cuddly so hoping he'll indulge me one day!

Ds started at 12 months. In the middle of play or cruising, he comes to put his arms around me then toddles off. He falls asleep with his arms around my neck. Bliss. Love it more than anything in the world.

ScarletLadyOfTheNight01 · 24/04/2012 11:02

DD is 16 months and she loves cuddles. I can't remember when she first started cuddling back, but it's been a few months. She cuddles everyone (me, her dad, my parents and the dog), she even cuddles her toys. She also says "aaaaaaw" at the same time. She is just very cuddly though, I think.

jaffa19 · 24/04/2012 14:04

Oh I can't wait to get some proper cuddles!

Ds is 2.7 months and only wanted proper cuddles when dd came along a few months ago. Even now, it's only when he wants them, not when we offer/ask.

mejon · 24/04/2012 14:35

14m DD2 has just started wrapping her arms around my neck. It's lovely Grin.

tumbleweedblowing · 24/04/2012 14:41

DD1 is 12, (years not months!!) and does not give. Ever. She is on the other hand very, very good at receiving, and hovers by my side whenever she wants one. She also likes a snuggle on the sofa.

DD2 ditto, but asks if she needs a supplementary one.

DD3 has given them very very hard since about 18months.

We're quite a touchy feely cuddly sort of family though, which might have an effect....... They'll be in from school in about an hour, and I know will line up by my desk as they arrive checking I'm not on mumsnet when I should be writing a report making sure I've missed them.. Grin

Thought my 7m old was cuddling but realised he was holding on tight to avoid being put in cot. Does rub heads with me and lays head on shoulder if snuggling or if I lie on the floor which amuses him.

kiwidreamer · 24/04/2012 20:44

Nawwwww I love bubby cuddles, DD is 11mths and a big big fan of cuddles, she has been giving cuddles since about 6mths old, as soon as she crawled at 7mths she'd give full body cuddles to random cushions on the floor / piles of washing / teddies etc I just love it when she gives proper cuddles with arms wide and buries head in my neck!! Purely personality tho, nothing else different between her and her brother who was probably around 18mths before spontaneous hugs and kisses we're common.
