ds is 7mo. not crying or red cheeked but dribbling gallons and chewing everything... doesn't seem to be in pain and he's not grumpy, but just wonder if i should give him sth so he'kk stop chewing everything?? no sign of teeth near surface of gum.

i used the nelsons teething granules they seemed to do the trick. DS would never let me run anything on his gums like calgel or bonjela.

I didn't give my DD anything unless she appeared to be in pain (crying, grumpy, or fussy with food).

I'm with Morph2 - nelsons granules. Always stuggled to get the powder in her mouth though, went everywhere but in her mouth! (me being inept I think), so if she had a dummy in I used to dip it in the granules and pop it back in her mouth, not sure if you're supposed to but worked for us. Calmed her instantly.

If obviously in pain and v upset, I gave her some calpol.
