Actually, cod, don't want to worry you but DS2 also takes his trousers off now and sits around in boxers, school shirt and tie

doormat · 09/02/2006 16:04

janh ds1 does that too
find it odd

Feistybird · 09/02/2006 16:05

dd's too - down the back of the couch, in the toy box, gone rock 'ard in the shoe cupboard.

my ds2 (2yrs) never has socks on for more than a few minutes and manages to hide them so that when I go to put them on so that we can pick ds1 up i cant find them. They eventually turn up but not until after i have put new socks on him and he has hidden them too He also likes running around with just his nappy on even when it is freezing cold.

With ds1 i find he would much rather sit around all day in just his boxers if he had the choice, he will even open the front door in them unless i get there first. He is 8yrs old.

Then again Dh likes sitting around with hardly any clothes on, there has been many a time he has had to rush to get dressed when people pop round. My mum has learnt to accept it and make sure she doesnt look at him too much. He's even flashed his bum at her several times so now she just takes no notice.
I wouldnt mind but he is more homer simpson than george clooney!!!

nutcracker · 09/02/2006 16:23

Ds is the opposite, he hates not having socks on, even wears them for bed.

Pfer · 09/02/2006 17:00

DS1 takes off everything except his pants as soon as he gets in the house. Just runs in shedding clothing as he goes. Does it at my mums house too. Even when it's cold. Have taken to turning the heating down a bit to try to encourage the wearing of clothing, but as yet he's not noticed.

FrannyandZooey · 09/02/2006 17:02

Ds is another footwear obsessive - he HAS to have socks and even shoes on at virtually all times. However they have to be the right colour socks - red, basically, with occasional excursions into orange and yellow (luckily we have plenty of each). An attempt at grey resulted in many tears and he still talks about "the scary grey socks".

Mercy · 09/02/2006 17:17

Hot feet, ime.

dh and dd are like this - first thing they both do when they get in the door is take off their socks and shoes. Sweaty socks = yuk.

Troutpout · 09/02/2006 19:03

Ds...hasn't worn socks for years once he gets through the door
slightly wierd when going to other peoples houses for a play...mind you he is a bit odd.
Sometimes he makes a special effort as a social grace and wears one...pulled half off so it's loose around the toes.
But yeah! What the hell is that really about!

nitfreecod · 09/02/2006 21:00

ok so thats it hten
its just a male thing?

OP posts:
Fauve · 09/02/2006 21:02

Well, the difference is that a dd won't put them on in the first place.

Fauve · 09/02/2006 21:04

Unless they're blue ones from Next, and she's feeling cooperative.

gingernut · 09/02/2006 21:13

yup, ds1 always removes his socks. dh often wanders around without trousers on in the house (but he does keep his socks on...sexy look that ).

mixedemotions123 · 10/02/2006 13:11

my ds has to have his socks on inside out because he doesn't like the feeling of the seam against his toes.

GDG · 10/02/2006 13:12

Oh this is so true - today i've got 2 pairs of socks on it's so cold and there are umpteen odd socks lying all over the playroom, stairs and bedrooms - they just won't keep them on!! Most odd!

Troutpout · 10/02/2006 15:44

haha mixedemotions...ds used to do that too!
